The city of Cilegon hosted the 9th National Joint Training (Latbernas IX) of Saka Bakti Husada (SBH) Disease Control Unit (Krida P2). The event, held at the Class I Health Quarantine Center (BKK) of Banten on Saturday (July 4, 2026), carried the major theme "SBH Banten Healthy Alert: Youth Caring for Health, Preventing Diseases with Healthy Living."
Combining online and offline concepts, this hybrid activity is designed as a platform for Senior and Rover Scouts (Pramuka Penegak and Pandega) to enhance their competencies in public health. Beyond technical training, this event serves as a meeting point for young cadres from all across Indonesia to expand their networks and strengthen collaboration in grassroots disease mitigation efforts.
The Chairperson of the Banten Provincial Scout Quarter (Kwartir Daerah Gerakan Pramuka Banten), Suwaib Amiruddin, emphasized three crucial points for the participants in his opening remarks. He encouraged members to actively build cross-regional communication networks, foster family values, and absorb as much knowledge as possible from the health practitioners presenting as speakers. According to him, synergy and solidarity among members are key assets for executing future humanitarian missions.
During the event, participants received comprehensive training from experts of the Ministry of Health of the Republic of Indonesia. The materials focused on the strategic role of young cadres in the early detection of infectious diseases, immunization strategies, leptospirosis control, and campaigns for the implementation of Smoke-Free Zones (KTR). This knowledge is expected to be directly applied by the participants in their respective home environments.
Also present at the event was the National Advisor of Saka Bakti Husada, Dr. Andi Saguni, along with the executive committee of the Scout movement. Through this initiative, it is hoped that a younger generation will emerge that is not only academically intelligent but also possesses high social awareness to become strategic partners of the government in improving the quality of public health across Indonesia.
