The Tangerang Regency Health Office (Dinkes), in cooperation with several local community health centers (Puskesmas), conducted field education on the importance of Clean and Healthy Living Behavior (PHBS) at Gadung Market, Tigaraksa District, on Friday (24/7/2026). This activity directly targeted market traders and visitors to improve sanitation standards in public facilities.

This field action is a follow-up to the health resilience improvement program initiated by Portkesmas and the RCCE Working Group, supported by the U.S. Department of State and the Ministry of Health of the Republic of Indonesia. In its implementation, the Tangerang Regency Health Office actively collaborated with Tigaraksa Puskesmas, Jambe Puskesmas, and Pasir Nangka Puskesmas.

The joint team used a persuasive door-to-door approach to interact directly with market players. They campaigned for the correct method of Handwashing with Soap (HWWS) before and after processing food ingredients, provided education on meeting drinking water needs to prevent dehydration in physical workers, and invited all market elements to maintain the cleanliness of the surrounding environment.

Through this participatory education, it is hoped that the awareness of the market community will consistently increase. This preventive step is considered crucial to prevent the spread of various infectious diseases and create a traditional market ecosystem that is hygienic, safe, and resilient to potential future outbreak threats.
