The People's Business Credit (KUR) program in South Kalimantan continues to be optimized as a key instrument in supporting the micro, small, and medium enterprise (MSME) sector. As of mid-2026, the realization of KUR fund disbursements reached IDR 2.48 trillion, or approximately 48.18 percent of the annual target set at IDR 5.15 trillion.

Expert Staff for Economy and Development at the Regional Secretariat of South Kalimantan Province, Rusma Khazairin, emphasized that the regional government is not solely oriented toward achieving numerical targets. His party places greater emphasis on the effectiveness and quality of financing so that every rupiah disbursed delivers a productive and sustainable impact on the welfare of local business actors.

Referring to data from the Ministry of Finance's Program Credit Information System (SIKP) as of June 17, 2026, a total of 38,501 debtors have received access to this financing. Sectorally, the trade sector emerged as the largest beneficiary, absorbing a total of IDR 761.03 billion targeting nearly 15,000 business actors.

On the other hand, the Micro KUR scheme became the most sought-after financing model, with disbursement values reaching IDR 1.58 trillion across more than 30,000 debtors. Banjarmasin City recorded the highest disbursement realization, while PT Bank Rakyat Indonesia (Persero) Tbk. ranked as the primary distributing institution with a total distribution of IDR 1.63 trillion.

Rusma added that strengthening capital access for MSMEs will continue to be enhanced. This step is taken as a concrete strategy to maintain regional economic resilience, considering that MSMEs serve as a crucial backbone for sustaining the economic activity in South Kalimantan.
