The Budget Committee (Banggar) of the Regional House of Representatives (DPRD) of Gunung Mas Regency, Central Kalimantan, officially submitted a number of strategic recommendations to the local government. This step was taken as a concrete effort to encourage improvements in the quality of public services, particularly in the public health sector in the region.
Spokesperson for the Gunung Mas DPRD Budget Committee, Yulius Agau, emphasized the importance of upgrading facilities at Kuala Kurun Regional Hospital (RSUD). Primary focus is given to improving the pediatric inpatient ward to meet more decent comfort and cleanliness standards for patients. According to him, the comfort aspect is an integral part of the healing process that hospital management must pay attention to.
Furthermore, the Budget Committee highlighted the importance of the Health Office's supervision over the continuity of services at community health centers (puskesmas). One critical point highlighted was the absence of permanent doctors in several service units. The legislative body urged that a replacement or on-call doctor system be effectively implemented to ensure patient safety without compromising medical treatment quality standards.
In addition to human resources issues, pharmaceutical management aspects did not escape attention. The Budget Committee requested increased supervision of the pharmacy installation at each health center. Orderly medicine stock management and accurate reporting systems are considered crucial to anticipate medicine shortages, which often hinder service to the public.
Responding to these aspirations, the Regent of Gunung Mas, Jaya S. Monong, expressed appreciation for the submitted recommendations. The local government stated its commitment to follow up on the input as a form of synergy in improving public welfare in Earth of Habangkalan Penyang Karuhei Tatau.
