Actor and musician Aldi Taher is once again expanding his wings in the country's culinary industry. This expansion is marked by the inauguration of the newest Aldis Hotdog outlet located in the BSD commercial area, Tangerang. Through this new outlet, he presents a unique culinary concept called "Odadog", a hot dog dish that uses West Java's traditional odading bread instead of regular buns.
This business development is the result of a strategic collaboration between Aldi Taher and Muhammad Restya Noval, the CEO of PT Aldis Hotdog. Previously, this culinary brand had already greeted consumers in the Pondok Pinang and Blok M areas of Jakarta. Both agreed to create a new culinary identity that blends Western culture and local wisdom.
Restya Noval revealed that the idea for this collaboration had been initiated since Ramadan 2026. Instead of launching burger menus that are already common in the market, they chose to create a unique menu with guaranteed high quality. The entire production process, from upstream to downstream, is carried out independently to maintain the quality of raw materials while ensuring that product prices remain competitive in the market.
According to Aldi Taher, the integration of odading into the hot dog menu aims to introduce traditional Indonesian culinary to a more modern level, with the potential to break into the international market. The union of Western and local concepts is expected to be the main differentiator amidst today's fierce competition in the food and beverage business.
In addition to strengthening its presence in the Jabodetabek area, Aldis Hotdog has also expanded to other major cities such as Medan, Pekanbaru, Sidoarjo, and Bengkulu. In the near future, the outlet chain is planned to open at Living World Cibubur and Summarecon Mall Bekasi. Furthermore, the management is preparing to launch the "Aldis Express" concept with a grab-and-go format that integrates hot dog and coffee sales.
