The Government of Bone Bolango Regency, Gorontalo, has taken a strategic step by utilizing digital technology to increase public awareness of Clean and Healthy Living Behavior (PHBS). This effort is realized through close collaboration with the academic sector to deliver interactive health education down to the village level.
This concrete step began with socialization on the use of digital technology for PHBS, which took place at the Toewawa Hotel, Kabila District. The activity, officially opened by the Regional Secretary of Bone Bolango Regency, Iwan Mustapa, was focused on productive families in Tanggilingo Village.
Regional Secretary Iwan Mustapa appreciated the active contribution of universities through community service programs. According to him, the utilization of digital innovation is a tactical solution amidst regional budget constraints to drive public service transformation and change the public's mindset regarding the importance of independently maintaining health.
Iwan also highlighted the role of cutting-edge technology, including artificial intelligence (AI), which can make it easier for the public to access health information quickly and engagingly. Educational content is expected to be presented in a simple format so that it is easy to understand, thereby stimulating changes in community habits to prevent diseases early on.
Although the government continues to guarantee access to healthcare through the BPJS Kesehatan program, individual behavioral awareness remains the main foundation. Tanggilingo Village is currently projected as a pilot project for the implementation of PHBS digitalization, which is later expected to be duplicated by other villages in the Bone Bolango area.
