Honda has officially introduced the latest generation of its adventure dual-sport motorcycle, the 2027 Honda XR300L Tornado, for the Brazilian market. This newest model comes with various significant upgrades and modern technology to challenge the dominance of its main competitor in the same class, such as the Yamaha Lander 250 Connected.
The powertrain of this adventure bike is equipped with a single-cylinder 293.5 cc OHC PGM-FI air-cooled engine. The engine is capable of producing up to 24.3 hp when running on gasoline, which increases to 24.8 hp with ethanol fuel at 7,500 rpm. Meanwhile, its peak torque reaches 26.4 Nm (gasoline) and 26.9 Nm (ethanol) at 5,750 rpm, delivered through a six-speed manual transmission with a slipper clutch system for smoother gear shifts.
In terms of aesthetics, Honda maintains its classic, slim, and functional dual-sport design language. Its tapered body silhouette is combined with a high front fender typical of dirt bikes, an ergonomic flat seat, and a high-mounted exhaust position to ensure safety when crossing puddles or muddy terrain.
Riding durability is supported by a robust double semi-cradle frame. In the suspension department, the bike relies on a high-travel telescopic front fork with rubber gaiters and a Pro-Link monoshock at the rear. The 21-inch front wheel is wrapped in Metzeler Karoo Street 90/90 tires, while the 18-inch rear wheel uses 120/80 tires.
The electronics sector is a major highlight of the 2027 model with the addition of Honda Selectable Torque Control (HSTC) to manage traction while riding. A dual-channel ABS system is also installed, where the ABS on the rear wheel can be manually deactivated to provide flexibility during off-road maneuvers. Vehicle security is also enhanced through the Honda Ignition Security System (HISS) anti-theft feature.
To support rider comfort, Honda has installed a digital LCD instrument panel featuring Optical Bonding technology to keep information clearly visible under bright sunlight, a full LED lighting system, and hazard lights. Weighing 143 kg with a tank capacity of 13.8 liters, this motorcycle, which has a seat height of 890 mm and a ground clearance of 268 mm, is marketed starting at 31,700 Brazilian Reais (equivalent to approximately IDR 112.3 million) in Fighting Red and Preto Black color options.
