Indosat Ooredoo Hutchison together with Arsari Group officially announced the formation of PT Infra Fiber Teknologi (IFT). This new company is tasked with managing an 86,000-kilometer fiber optic cable network, which includes backbone networks, domestic submarine cables, and access networks across various regions of Indonesia.
This strategic move is a follow-up to the investment transaction that began in December 2025. Indosat and PT Aplikanusa Lintasarta transferred their network assets to Arsari Group's investment platform, PT Nusantara Fiber Teknologi (NFT). Despite the transfer of asset ownership, Indosat maintains a strategic position with a 49.9 percent stake in NFT.
The transaction brings financial value to Indosat with gross proceeds reaching IDR 11.7 trillion. These funds are planned to be allocated toward strengthening the company's core business, including the development of 5G networks and artificial intelligence (AI)-based digital services, which are the future focus of national telecommunications.
By adopting an independently managed open access business model, IFT targets expanding partnerships with various industry players, ranging from telecommunications operators and cloud service providers to hyperscaler companies. This model is believed to increase investment efficiency and strengthen the resilience of telecommunications infrastructure in the country.
Hendri Mulya Syam, who now leads IFT, emphasized that the company's main focus is not merely serving areas that already have established connectivity, but reaching areas that have been underserved. This aligns with the vision of driving the national digital economy through reliable and equitable internet access across all corners of the archipelago.
