Three political science students from the Faculty of Social and Political Sciences (FISIP) at Syiah Kuala University (USK) achieved a proud milestone at the Mandalika Essay Competition 7, held at the University of Mataram, Lombok, in early September 2025. The team, led by Rizfa Maghfirah, Muhammad Vikram, and Zikni Anggela, successfully brought home the silver medal after competing against university delegations from across the country.
During the competition, the USK team presented an innovative idea titled "'Suarakita' Application: Digital Innovation and Inclusive Collaboration in Democratic Processes and Sustainable Development Towards Golden Indonesia 2045." This concept was designed as a digital bridge to facilitate the expression of public aspirations more effectively and transparently.
Team leader Rizfa Maghfirah explained that the application is designed to collect public aspiration data accurately. The gathered data will later be analyzed to assist policymakers in formulating targeted regulations. This idea is envisioned as a solution to the stagnation of public participation in democratic processes, which has traditionally been hindered by conventional procedures.
The team's advisor, Iqbal Ahmady, S.IP., M.I.P., appreciated his students' achievement. According to him, this innovation reflects the students' awareness of the importance of integrating technology into political education and community empowerment. He emphasized that USK students not only excel theoretically but are also responsive in creating concrete solutions to national issues.
This success further reinforces FISIP USK's position as an incubator for progressive young thinkers. It is hoped that the achievement of Rizfa and her teammates will spark enthusiasm among other students to continue contributing through creative ideas relevant to the national development vision towards Golden Indonesia 2045.
