The Samarinda City Government continues to demonstrate its commitment to social welfare and public health without discrimination, including for correctional inmates. The Vice Mayor of Samarinda declared his readiness to attend and directly inspect the implementation of the free health check activities organized at the Samarinda State Detention Center (Rutan).

This step was taken to ensure that inmates continue to receive their right to decent and adequate healthcare services during their rehabilitation period. This health check program is expected to detect various potential health issues early, allowing medical treatment to be administered quickly and precisely.

The synergy between the Samarinda City Government, the Health Agency, and the detention center management is tangible proof of the state's presence in providing humanitarian protection. Through direct monitoring by the city's executive branch, it is hoped that the quality of health services inside the detention center can continue to be improved to achieve a clean and healthy correctional environment.
