The Regional Secretary of Makassar City, Andi Zulkifly, directly led the inspection of Gunung Sari Kelurahan's readiness in anticipation of the South Sulawesi Province Kelurahan (urban village) Competition assessment. This monitoring was carried out at several crucial points to ensure the kelurahan is ready to compete at the regional level.

The assessment in this event covers a number of important indicators focusing on the welfare and independence of the residents. These include food security, environmental preservation, and MSME-based economic resilience, supported by the existence of urban farming programs and waste banks.

During the inspection, Andi Zulkifly paid special attention to the operations of the Merah Putih Cooperative, which is one of the main assessment instruments. The former Head of Lakkang Kelurahan emphasized that the cooperative must not be just a signboard, but must demonstrate real activities serving the basic needs of residents, such as rice and LPG gas cylinders.

Although the general readiness is considered quite mature, the Makassar Regional Secretary still provided several evaluation notes that must be resolved immediately before the provincial assessment team arrives. Some of the highlighted issues include optimizing waste bank management and increasing the active participation of local residents.

With the remaining preparation time, the Makassar City Government is optimistic that Gunung Sari Kelurahan can fix all minor deficiencies. The great hope is that this kelurahan can deliver the best results and advance to represent South Sulawesi at the national level.
