The 7th President of Indonesia, Joko Widodo, has once again demonstrated his political influence by issuing special instructions to the leadership of the Indonesian Solidarity Party (PSI). In a meeting held in Solo, Jokowi openly asked the rose-logo party to help guard the administration of President Prabowo Subianto and Vice President Gibran Rakabuming Raka so that it can run stably for up to two terms.
Chairman of the PSI Central Executive Board (DPP), Bestari Barus, revealed that the directive was conveyed directly by Jokowi as a form of full support for the continuity of government programs. According to Bestari, Jokowi hopes that the Prabowo-Gibran leadership will not only focus on the current term, but will also be able to continue the development agenda in the next period.
This statement also dampens public speculation regarding the "two suns" issue within the current circle of power. Bestari emphasized that the leadership dualism narrative has no basis, considering that Jokowi is actually attempting to strengthen the government's position to avoid internal conflicts that could disrupt national stability.
Amid the impeachment issues that briefly hit Vice President Gibran Rakabuming Raka's position, support from an influential figure like Jokowi is seen as providing additional political legitimacy. This is viewed as a strong signal that political consolidation remains intact despite various dynamics and discourses emerging at the central level.
In addition to discussing policy direction, the meeting also touched upon the importance of maintaining the tradition of friendship and staying connected. The visit of President Prabowo Subianto's son, Didit Hediprasetyo, to Jokowi's residence in Solo was described as a symbol of harmony that remains close between the two families, while also showing that high-level communication continues to function well following the government transition.
