The Ministry of Youth and Sports (Kemenpora), in collaboration with the Education Fund Management Institution (LPDP), has officially launched Phase II of the 2026 Sports Sector Scholarship Program. This initiative is specifically designed to facilitate sports professionals, coaches, and sports support personnel in pursuing master's (S2) and doctoral (S3) degrees.

Assistant Deputy for Elite Athletes at Kemenpora, Budi Ariyanto Muslim, emphasized that this policy is a manifestation of the government's commitment to creating a more professional sports ecosystem. According to him, progress in athletic achievement cannot rely solely on physical training, but also requires scientific input and competent human resource management to adapt to global challenges.

This program offers two main tracks: the achievement award track aimed at sports figures with a proven track record of tangible contributions to the country, and the achievement enhancement track focused on developing individual competence capacity. Applicants are expected to prepare thoroughly, both in terms of administrative requirements and their intended study plans.

On the other hand, Head of the LPDP Scholarship Cooperation Sub-division, Azman Muammar, stated that this endowment fund support is a long-term investment to nurture future leaders in the sports sector. He remains optimistic that improving the academic quality of sports professionals will have a significant impact on Indonesia's competitiveness on the international stage.

Registration for this scholarship program opened on June 30 and will close on July 31, 2026. All interested national sports personnel can access complete information and application procedures through the official communication channels of the Ministry of Youth and Sports of the Republic of Indonesia.
