In the warm atmosphere of a rehearsal space in Purwokerto, Central Java, a group of young people enthusiastically follow the guidance of Dede Yuan Firmanto. The 29-year-old man is not just an ordinary dance instructor; he is someone who successfully transformed personal trauma into inspirational works of art. For Yuanfi, dancing is not merely physical exercise, but an emotional escape he has pursued since the age of five.

The career journey of the Purbalingga native was far from smooth. In his youth, he often faced ridicule from his environment and negative stigma regarding his profession as a male dancer. Even when his parents divorced, Yuanfi chose to delve deeper into dance as a self-defense mechanism to maintain his mental health stability amid family turmoil.

Yuanfi's persistence paid off. He is now widely known as a professional choreographer who has collaborated with top-tier talent, including background dancers for Agnes Monica. With self-taught skills in makeup, singing, and acting, he managed to build an independent and competitive career, earning fees reaching millions of rupiah per training project.

More than just financial success, Yuanfi has a deep social mission. He often welcomes children from dysfunctional families to learn dance privately. For him, dancing is a way to provide a space for self-expression for those who feel marginalized, while helping maintain mental health so they retain a positive outlook on life.

Now, in addition to teaching and judging competitions, Yuanfi is also actively creating original music. Through songs like "Mengejar Mimpi" and "Everytime La..La..", he continues to prove that limitations and a complicated path are not obstacles to creating art and spreading positivity to others.
