A video post showing the Merah Putih Village Cooperative (KDMP) building at the foot of Mount Tanggamus, Tanggamus Regency, Lampung, has suddenly become a hot topic on social media. The video sparked speculation among netizens who suspected that the facility was built in an isolated area or a forbidden protected forest zone.
Responding to the news, Supardi, a local resident who participated in the construction process, provided a firm clarification. He stated that the narrative regarding the remote location was incorrect. According to Supardi, the building stands in a strategic area in the middle of Pekon Sidokaton's residential zone, located just about 10 meters from residents' houses.
The Head of Pekon Sidokaton, Indrio Basuki, also provided an official explanation to clear up the confusing information. Accompanied by village officials, he emphasized that allegations of construction in a forbidden area were completely unfounded. The location of the building is on legal land and is not part of a protected forest area.
Furthermore, Indrio stressed that all stages of the KDMP building construction were conducted through transparent procedures. The village authorities ensured that the project involved various key elements, ranging from the village representative body (BHP), religious leaders, to local community figures, to ensure that the development provides real benefits to local residents.
