The Berau Regency Government, police, educational institutions, and the private sector have joined forces to organize a sports development program for the youth. The event, titled "ITHACA Futsal Coaching Clinic", was held at SMPN 1 Gunung Tabur in partnership with the Indonesian professional football club, PSS Sleman, who served as training instructors.
The opening ceremony was lively, featuring a traditional Jepen dance performance, followed by the distribution of social assistance to six schools and foundations in the local area. The main agenda then proceeded with futsal technique and tactic training sessions led directly by the PSS Sleman coaching team.
Several local officials attended the event, including the Regional Secretary of Berau Regency Muhammad Said, Head of the Education Office Hj. Mardiatul Idisah, Head of Gunung Tabur Sub-district Luthfi Hidayat, representative of the Gunung Tabur Police Aiptu Syamsul Bahri, representatives from the Military District Command (Koramil), and the head of ITHACA Resource Wahyu Sugiarto.
Gunung Tabur Police Chief, Police Inspector First Class (IPTU) Alan Firdaus, expressed his full support for the positive initiative. According to him, sports are a highly effective medium for building youth character from an early age, instilling values of discipline, sportsmanship, and solid teamwork.
This collaborative program is hoped to not only cultivate outstanding young athletes from Bumi Batiwakkal but also serve as a means to prevent negative activities among youth through structured and sustainable development.
