The Ministry of Communication and Digital (Komdigi) officially launched a series of crucial stages in the selection process for the 700 MHz and 2.6 GHz radio frequency bands. This three-day process, running from Wednesday, July 8 to Friday, July 10, 2026, marks a decisive step for three telecommunications giants—PT Indosat Tbk, PT Telekomunikasi Selular (Telkomsel), and PT XL Axiata Tbk—to strengthen their network infrastructure.

This crucial agenda includes the selection of frequency blocks as well as the determination of block positioning on the 700 MHz and 2.6 GHz spectrums. Beyond the technical aspects of the frequency bands, the selection also encompasses operational obligations, specifically determining the village or sub-district areas that will receive mobile broadband internet access from each selection winner.

This stage is a continuation of the price auction successfully held by the ministry on the preceding Tuesday. With the completion of this block selection stage, the selection process will soon enter its final phase before being officially announced to the public.

Komdigi reaffirmed its commitment to conducting the entire process transparently. The final selection results—including participant rankings, bid prices, and frequency block allocations—will subsequently be published openly on the official Ministry of Komdigi website as a form of accountability to the public and the industry.
