TANGERANG – The QBig BSD City area in Tangerang was suddenly packed with more than 5,000 running enthusiasts on Sunday morning. They gathered to liven up the Pancasakti Run 2026, a sporting event featuring three main categories: the 5-kilometer (5K) route, the 10-kilometer (10K) route, and a 21-kilometer Half Marathon.

The public enthusiasm, which soared past the initial target, made the organizers optimistic. Chief Executive Officer of Pancasakti Group, Suwandy Tasmady, stated that the event ran successfully without any fatal incidents (zero crash) thanks to thorough preparation and supportive weather. The success of this event has triggered expansion plans for the upcoming Pancasakti Run 2027, with a target of up to 8,000 participants in a more representative location.

Amidst the thousands of participants, the Former Governor of DKI Jakarta for the 2014–2017 period, Basuki Tjahaja Purnama, also known as Ahok, was seen in attendance. In addition to symbolically sending off the participants through a flag-off ceremony, Ahok also tried out the 5K category track. He highlighted the growing trend of running after the COVID-19 pandemic as an affordable exercise option to maintain physical fitness.

Nevertheless, Ahok reminded everyone of the importance of recognizing one's body capacity when exercising. He admitted to limiting the intensity of his running, following medical advice regarding his weight, which reaches 93 kilograms. According to him, the type and portion of exercise must be adjusted to the physical condition of each individual to avoid the risk of injury.

The excitement of the event was further felt with the presence of various supporting entertainment, such as lion dance (barongsai) performances that entertained participants from Depok to Jabodetabek. This event is not only a platform to promote an active lifestyle in collaboration with Hello Sehat, but also part of Pancasakti Group's strategic step to build public closeness ahead of its planned initial public offering (IPO) in 2029.
