The Bachelor's Degree Program in Recreational Sports, Faculty of Sports Science and Health (FIKK) at Jakarta State University (UNJ), has once again demonstrated its commitment to producing highly practical graduates. Class of 2023 students successfully organized the Sriwedari Tennis Tournament at the UNJ Campus B Sport Complex on Wednesday, July 8, 2026. This tournament served as part of the Final Semester Examination (UAS) for the Lawn Tennis Theory and Practice Course.
The event, officially opened by the Coordinator of the Recreational Sports Study Program, Zulham, featured Men’s Doubles and Mixed Doubles categories. Participating in the event were not only active students but also alumni, creating a warm space for interaction and strengthening intergenerational networks through the spirit of sportsmanship.
Course instructor Divya Zuhra Rahmawati emphasized that this activity was designed so that students would not only excel technically in tennis but also become adept at managing an event professionally. Students were given full responsibility starting from planning stages, technical arrangements, to operational management on the court.
The managerial experience gained by students in organizing this event is considered crucial for sharpening leadership, communication, and teamwork skills. This is seen as a tangible form of experiential learning capable of preparing students to face the realities of the workforce in the sports and recreation industry.
In addition to impacting student competency development, organizing this tournament also aligns with the Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs) agenda. This initiative supports SDG 3 on Good Health and Well-being through the promotion of physical activity, as well as SDG 4 concerning the provision of quality education relevant to contemporary needs.
