The Regional Executive Board (DPD) of PKS Balikpapan City has once again demonstrated its social commitment by holding a health service event in the form of mass circumcision. Located at the Syifa Clinic Circumcision Center, North Balikpapan, this agenda was held to facilitate the community's health needs while making the most of the school holiday on Sunday (July 5, 2026).
The Chairman of DPD PKS Balikpapan, H. Nasrul Hamdi LC, MA, explained that this social action is an annual agenda designed to strengthen relations between the party and residents. According to him, this initiative is a realization of PKS's responsibility to be present in providing real benefits for the welfare of the broader community, beyond conventional political roles.
A total of 50 children from six districts in the Balikpapan area registered as participants in this event. Nevertheless, the medical team led by Dr. Erwin Baskoro conducted strict examinations before the procedure, resulting in three potential participants being declared unable to undergo circumcision due to health condition constraints.
As part of the event series, the committee provided appreciation gifts, copies of the Quran, and monetary gifts to all participants. This support is expected to bring happiness to the children undergoing the circumcision ceremony.
The Chairman of the Organizing Committee, H. Slamet Iman Santoso, expressed gratitude for the smooth running of the event. He hopes that similar events can be held again in the coming years to continue providing free access to health services for people in need across the city.
