Geely Auto Indonesia officially marked its new step in the national automotive market by opening pre-orders (pre-book) for the Geely Coolray. The grand introduction of this internal combustion engine (ICE) SUV was held at an event titled "Geely Refining Tomorrow" at the Mandalika International Circuit, Central Lombok, West Nusa Tenggara.
This model is one of Geely's global flagship lines, used by more than 1.35 million consumers worldwide. Sales and Channel Development Director of Geely Auto Indonesia, Constantinus Herlijoso, explained that the presence of the Coolray is specially designed to meet the needs of Indonesian consumers who desire a compact SUV with a sporty character, responsiveness, and comfort for daily mobility.
Looking at the powertrain specifications, the Geely Coolray is equipped with a 1.5L Turbocharged engine paired with a 7-speed wet dual-clutch transmission (7DCT). This mechanical combination is capable of producing a peak power of 174 PS with a maximum torque of 290 Nm. Drivers can also choose from four available driving modes—Eco, Comfort, Sport, and Adaptive—to adjust performance to the character of the road being traveled.
The car is marketed in two variants: Standard and Flagship. The Flagship variant comes with a more masculine exterior visual thanks to dual-tone touches, 18-inch wheels, and red brake calipers. In the cabin, user comfort is supported by an 8.88-inch digital instrument panel, a 14.6-inch infotainment touchscreen, Apple CarPlay and Android Auto connectivity, wireless charging, and 72-color ambient lighting.
In terms of safety, the Geely Coolray is armed with an Advanced Driver Assistance System (ADAS) Level 2 active safety system. Other supporting features include a 540-degree monitoring camera, six airbags, Electronic Stability Control (ESC), and a Tire Pressure Monitoring System (TPMS). Although orders have opened across the official dealer network, the official price announcement for this vehicle will only be released at the upcoming GIIAS 2026 automotive exhibition.
