The Bogor City Government continues to finalize infrastructure preparations and coordination ahead of the West Java Provincial Sports Week (Porprov) XV, which will be held in 2026. As one of the main hosts, the "Rain City" is preparing to facilitate matches for 20 sports branches spread across seven strategic venues.

This readiness received positive appreciation from the Head of the West Java Youth and Sports Department (Dispora), Heri Antasari, after attending the Chef de Mission (CDM) Meeting II at Paseban Sribaduga. Heri praised the commitment of Bogor City, along with Depok and Bekasi, which continue to show significant preparation progress despite facing regional budget constraints.

According to Heri, Porprov is an important pillar in producing and screening potential West Java athletes to maintain the general champion title at the 2028 National Sports Week (PON). This edition adopts a decentralized concept involving 18 regions—consisting of three main hosts, three co-hosts, and 12 supporting regions—in an effort to reduce new infrastructure development costs while distributing the economic impact.

The largest multi-sport event in West Java is projected to attract around 17,000 athletes. This large-scale mobility of people is believed to significantly stimulate the local economy, ranging from the hospitality, transportation, and culinary sectors to Micro, Small, and Medium Enterprises (MSMEs).

Deputy Mayor of Bogor, Jenal Mutaqin, emphasized his administration's full commitment to the success of the sports event. He reported that technical preparations are ongoing, including feasibility inspections of the facilities at the seven designated venues to ensure they meet provincial-level competition standards.

The economic impact of the event is already starting to be felt in Bogor City. Jenal revealed that several contingents from various regions have begun booking accommodation well in advance. The Bogor City Government is determined to provide the best services and infrastructure to make this biennial sports festival a success, both in terms of achievements and organization.
