The responsive step of the South Aceh Regency Government in addressing complaints of water scarcity for the agricultural sector in the Kluet Raya region has received a positive response. Under the direct instructions of the Regent of South Aceh, H. Mirwan MS, SE., M.Sos., the normalization project on the free intake of the Gunung Pudung irrigation in North Kluet District has now been successfully completed to save residents' rice fields.
The work, which took place in a marathon fashion for three days and two nights using heavy equipment, is now showing tangible results. Based on direct monitoring by the Ruak Gampong (Village) Government in the field, the water flow from the irrigation channel is reported to be flowing smoothly and optimally toward the local farmers' rice fields.
Keuchik of Ruak, Zuhar Nizan, expressed deep appreciation for the swift action of the local government. According to him, the seriousness of the South Aceh Regent in maximizing the deployment of heavy equipment shows genuine concern for the welfare of farmers who depend on the agricultural sector in the Kluet Raya region.
In addition to the regent, appreciation was also directed to the Sub-district Head (Camat) of North Kluet, Alman Paluti, and the Field Coordinator, Imum Buyung. Both figures are considered to have played crucial roles in consistently supervising the normalization process in the field so that this vital project could be completed with good workmanship quality without significant obstacles.
Echoing this sentiment, the Sub-district Head of North Kluet, Alman Paluti, emphasized that this normalization step was an urgent need. Without immediate intervention, farmers in the area would certainly face the threat of drought, which could trigger crop failure in this planting season. He also praised the active synergy of the community, who participated in supervising the work until completion.
