The intensive search efforts for two teenagers from Krinjing Village, Watumalang District, Wonosobo Regency, have finally reached a conclusion. Arifin Nurohmat (18) and Yufaidin (15), who were reported missing since Tuesday (30/6/2026) while hiking Mount Bismo, were found deceased in the valley area around Curug Tiga on Sunday (12/7/2026).

Wonosobo SAR Post Rescuer, Ardi Tyas Sasongko, revealed that the discovery was made at around 13:00 WIB by a joint team of local residents and Wanadri volunteers. Both were found at the bottom of the valley, a terrain that is extremely difficult to access by ground personnel.

The evacuation process of the victims was quite challenging due to the steep and dangerous geographical conditions of the location. The joint SAR team had to deploy special equipment to lift the bodies from the bottom of the valley to a safer evacuation point. Based on the position of the discovery, the bodies of the two victims were found not far from each other.

Although authorities are still awaiting further examination regarding the cause of death, preliminary suspicion points to a fatal accident where both victims slipped and fell into a ravine around the Curug Tiga area. This discovery brings an end to the search operation that had involved various elements, including the use of thermal drone technology, tracking dogs, and extensive sweeps across various hiking trails such as Sebrani, Deroduwur, and Silandak for almost the past two weeks.
