The spirit of sportsmanship once again envelops Tuban Regency with the commencement of the 9th Regency Sports Week (PORKAB IX) in 2026. This prestigious event serves as the main stage for athletes from various sub-districts to showcase their skills while serving as a benchmark for sports development in the region.
A total of 36 sports disciplines are being contested in this event, which is scheduled to take place in phases from July 4 to November 22, 2026. Matches are spread across various strategic locations throughout Tuban Regency to ensure broader community involvement.
Head of the Culture, Youth, Sports, and Tourism Office (Disbudporapar) of Tuban Regency, Mohammad Emawan Putra, emphasized that this PORKAB is a strategic step to scout young talent. It is hoped that through intensive competition, top athletes will emerge who will later be able to bring honor to Tuban at both provincial and national levels.
More than just a competition, the event is expected to serve as a social glue strengthening brotherhood among residents, coaches, and officials. The values of discipline and togetherness are the main focus to be instilled alongside efforts to boost regional sports achievement.
