The Village Government of Gunungmasigit, Cipatat District, West Bandung Regency, has officially dismissed rumors stating that the construction project of the Merah Putih Village Cooperative (Kopdes) is located at the top of the mountain. This narrative had sparked debate on social media as it linked the construction site to the popular Stone Garden tourist area.
The Head of Gunungmasigit Village, Tarkopa, emphasized that the cooperative building is located at the foot of the mountain and is still within the vicinity of the residential area. According to him, the information circulating in public does not align with the facts on the ground. He confirmed that the distance between the Kopdes building and the residents' homes in RW 9 is only about 100 meters.
Tarkopa explained that the site selection began with a request to provide village treasury land (tanah carik) for the Merah Putih Kopdes program. The village government had previously proposed five land options to PT Agrinas Pangan Nusantara for feasibility review. Out of the five offered sites, the location in the Stone Garden area was deemed the most strategic by the project executor.
This clarification is expected to put an end to the confusion and rumors circulating among the public. The village officials emphasized that the land selection process was carried out through careful mapping and with due consideration of strategic aspects for the operation of the village cooperative.
