The Bogor Regency Government is currently exploring an ambitious plan to introduce a cable car system as a strategic solution to ease traffic congestion in the Puncak tourist area. The project is projected to serve as the main link between the Summarecon area in Sukaraja District and the Gunung Mas Rest Area.

Bogor Regent, Rudy Susmanto, stated that the initiative is currently still in the feasibility study phase. His administration is currently intensifying communication with a number of potential investors, given the scale of the project which requires significant funding support. He emphasized that this development will not burden the Regional Budget (APBD) given the estimated funding needs, which reach trillions of rupiah.

In its design concept, the Summarecon area will function as a 'park and ride' location for tourists. From that point, visitors will be directed to use the cable car to reach facilities in the Gunung Mas Rest Area. This step is expected to reduce tourists' reliance on road transport, which has been the main cause of chronic traffic congestion on the Puncak route, especially during weekends and holiday seasons.

In addition to the cable car project, the Bogor Regency Government is also coordinating rail-based transport development in other areas. In collaboration with the Ministry of Transportation and PT KAI, the local government continues to study the potential of developing railway lines connecting the Jasinga-Tenjo and Parung Panjang-Jasinga corridors to strengthen the overall transport infrastructure in the Bogor region.
