Mayor of Denpasar, I Gusti Ngurah Jaya Negara, attended the series of religious ceremonies (Karya) Ngenteg Linggih Padudusan, Mupuk Pedagingan, Tawur Wrespati Kalpa Agung, Lan Panilapatian Pegat Soot held at Gunung Sari Temple, Banjar Jurang Asri, Peraupan Traditional Village, on Wednesday (29/7/2026). This sacred ceremony, coinciding with the holy day of Purnama Sasih Karo, marks the completion of the restoration process for a number of shrine buildings (pelinggih) at the temple.
On this occasion, Mayor Jaya Negara symbolically signed the inauguration plaque of the ceremony and performed the mendem pedagingan ritual in the bale gedong area. In addition to conducting the religious procession, he also handed over punia funds (donations) as a form of local government support for the traditional and religious activities of the local community.
The event was also attended by several key officials, including Member of the Bali Provincial Parliament I Gusti Ngurah Gede Marhaendra Jaya, Chairman of Commission II of the Denpasar City Parliament I Wayan Sutama, and Head of North Denpasar District I Wayan Ariyanta, along with local traditional leaders.
Mayor Jaya Negara expressed his appreciation for the community's independence in carrying out this Yadnya ceremony. According to him, community-based religious activities like this not only enhance spiritual values (sradha bhakti), but also strengthen brotherhood and radiate positive energy to neutralize negative influences in the surrounding environment.
Meanwhile, the Chairperson of the Karya Committee, I Made Sueca, explained that today's series of ceremonies is part of the preparation leading up to the peak of the event, scheduled for August 5, 2026. The peak ceremony will later be led (dipuput) by Ida Peranda Mpu Nabe Yoga Daksa Paramitha from Griya Peraupan. He also expressed his gratitude for the direct support from the Mayor of Denpasar, who witnessed and inaugurated this sacred ceremony.
