Commemorating the 54th Unity Movement Day (HKG) of the Family Welfare Movement (PKK), the PKK Mobilization Team (TP PKK) of Ciamis Regency organized a health seminar titled "Resisting Vulnerability, Remaining Charming: Healthy and Active Without Illness". The event, which took place at the Ciamis PKK Building Hall on Wednesday (22/7/2026), aimed to increase public awareness regarding the threat of non-communicable diseases (NCDs).
The Chairperson of TP PKK Ciamis Regency, Hj. Kania Ernawati Herdiat, officially opened the event, which was attended by PKK administrators from the regency to sub-district levels, as well as representatives of the Dharma Wanita Persatuan (DWP) from various local government agencies. In her speech, Kania highlighted the rising trend of NCDs, such as diabetes, hypertension, stroke, and heart disease, which are often triggered by an unhealthy modern lifestyle.
Kania emphasized that the theme of this year's seminar serves as an important reminder for women to be more proactive in maintaining their physical fitness. Given the vital role of women in managing families and contributing to the social sphere, a healthy and prime physical condition is the primary foundation that must be maintained from an early stage through preventive measures.
As a concrete solution, TP PKK Ciamis is campaigning for healthy living behaviors through the CERDIK method—which includes regular health checks, avoiding cigarette smoke, active physical exercise, maintaining a balanced diet, getting enough rest, and managing stress levels well. Mothers are also encouraged to act as pioneers for family health by serving nutritious meals and supporting early detection through medical screening.
This educational seminar featured two health experts, namely dr. Hj. Primahati Riana Rosy, Sp.PD., and dr. Eni Rochaeni, who presented strategies for preventing NCDs. In addition to the seminar, the 54th HKG PKK commemoration series was also enlivened by a social blood donation action centered at the Joglo Timur of the Ciamis Regency Pavilion to help others in need.
