The Regional Government of Gunung Mas Regency officially celebrated its 24th anniversary in a solemn ceremony held in the courtyard of the Gunung Mas Regent's Office on Monday (June 22, 2026). The event was attended by members of the Forkopimda (Regional Leadership Coordination Forum), civil servants, community leaders, and students who joined in celebrating the region's historical milestone.
The Governor of Central Kalimantan, H. Agustiar Sabran, who served as the inspector of the ceremony, emphasized that the anniversary celebration is not merely a routine ceremony. He described this momentum as a reminder of the importance of the spirit of gotong royong (mutual cooperation) and the Huma Betang philosophy within the framework of the Unitary State of the Republic of Indonesia (NKRI) to accelerate sustainable development.
Under the theme "Economy Grows, Gunung Mas Independent", the Governor encouraged the local government and the community to be more progressive in managing local potential. He emphasized that amidst the dynamics of global competition, regional independence is the key to ensuring that Gunung Mas does not just become a spectator in its own land.
In his speech, the Governor highlighted the wealth of the agricultural, tourism, and creative economy sectors as major strengths for Gunung Mas Regency. He believed that with optimal governance, public welfare could be significantly improved, while also strengthening the region's competitiveness on the national stage.
Furthermore, the Provincial Government of Central Kalimantan expressed its commitment to continuing support for infrastructure development and inter-regional connectivity. The Governor emphasized that budget efficiency will remain a priority so that every government policy is able to address the needs of the community down to the remote villages.
