BPJS Kesehatan has just presented the 2025 Program Management and Financial Report at a Public Expose event in Jakarta. During the presentation, President Director of BPJS Kesehatan, Prihati Pujowaskito, emphasized that the National Health Insurance (JKN) Program has evolved into a vital instrument in shaping healthy, productive, and globally competitive Indonesian human resources.
By the end of 2025, JKN membership coverage reached 282.7 million people, equivalent to 98.62 percent of Indonesia's total population. The high service utilization rate, reaching 1.9 million cases daily, serves as a strong indicator of high public trust in this health insurance system. This positive response is supported by the optimization of digital transformation, ranging from the Mobile JKN app to administrative services via WhatsApp channels and the Care Center.
In terms of financial governance, BPJS Kesehatan reported a healthy and accountable Social Security Fund (DJS). With net assets reaching IDR 30.04 trillion as of December 31, 2025, the institution is ensured to be capable of meeting estimated claim payments for up to 1.88 months ahead in accordance with applicable regulations. This commitment to transparency and integrity was reaffirmed by the Chairman of the BPJS Kesehatan Supervisory Board, Stevanus Adrianto Passat, as a fundamental responsibility in managing public funds.
Meanwhile, an economics expert from the University of Indonesia, Telisa Aulia Falianty, emphasized the importance of viewing healthcare financing as a long-term investment. According to her, financial resilience in the JKN system is the key to building quality human capital. She also encouraged strategic collaboration between the government, the private sector, and healthcare facilities to ensure the program's sustainability through a more efficient principle of mutual cooperation.
