The Payakumbuh Municipal Government, through the Health Office and the Posyandu Guidance Team, is currently accelerating a series of capacity-building programs for Posyandu throughout July 2026. This strategic step aims to optimize the quality of primary healthcare services at the sub-district level and prepare cadres to welcome the national health transformation.
The peak of this series of activities was held at the Josrizal Zain Hall, Payakumbuh City Hall, on Thursday (23/7/2026). This important meeting was attended by local government officials, including the Regional Secretary, the Posyandu Guidance Team, the Health Office, Bappeda, as well as sub-district (camat) and urban village (lurah) heads across Payakumbuh, to align perceptions regarding the new direction of Posyandu management.
As part of the preparations, the Health Office had previously equipped sub-district and urban village-level Posyandu Guidance Teams through intensive technical guidance on July 20-21. This training was divided by region to ensure the transfer of knowledge regarding Posyandu transformation policies and the formulation of work programs runs more effectively.
Representing the Mayor of Payakumbuh, Zulmaeta, the Assistant I for Government and People's Welfare, Nofriwandi, outlined three main pillars in the current Posyandu transformation. These three aspects include expanding the scope of services beyond the conventional health sector, strengthening institutional status into Urban Village Community Institutions, and a guidance system that is now structured hierarchically from the central to regional levels.
The Chairperson of the Payakumbuh City Posyandu Guidance Team, Eni Muis Zulmaeta, also expressed high appreciation for the dedication of the cadres who serve on the front lines. According to her, Posyandu performance evaluations or competitions are not merely about chasing trophies, but serve as a means of continuous evaluation so that preventive and promotive services in the community become more independent and have a real impact.
Meanwhile, the Head of the Payakumbuh City Health Office, dr. Yanti, explained that the implementation of primary service integration refers to the latest health regulations. Currently, Posyandu no longer only serves infants and toddlers, but the entire life cycle from pregnant women to the elderly, supported by regular home visits by trained cadres.
