Universitas Pelita Harapan (UPH) has taken a significant step in campus sports development by establishing an official partnership with Campus League. The signing of the Memorandum of Understanding (MoU), which took place in Karawaci, Tangerang, on Saturday (6/6/2026), marks a new chapter for UPH in supporting the professional careers of student-athletes within the higher education environment.
The agreement involves UPH's Associate Vice President of Student Development, Alumni & Corporate Relations, Dr. Andry M. Panjaitan, and Campus League CEO, Ryan Gozali. This collaboration makes UPH the third higher education institution to join the Campus League network, following similar partnerships with Universitas Islam Indonesia and Universitas Pendidikan Indonesia.
For UPH, this initiative is not just about competition, but a tangible realization of the Higher Education Tridharma (Three Pillars of Higher Education). Dr. Andry revealed that the integration of the Campus League ecosystem will provide crucial data access for the academic community for research purposes, community service, and the development of learning curricula that are more relevant to today's sports industry.
Meanwhile, Campus League is preparing a long-term vision of a 'home and away' based competition system within universities. This plan is projected to be realized within the next three to four years as an effort to build an organic fan base, alumni engagement, and an independent business model through merchandise sales and sponsor support.
Through this business model, Campus League hopes that each campus team will have the financial independence to fund team operations, coach remuneration, and the upgrading of sports infrastructure to meet professional broadcasting standards. This step is expected to create a sustainable and competitive campus sports ecosystem in Indonesia.
