Quang Ngai Province, Vietnam, is currently attracting the attention of Singaporean investors planning to expand their business scope. Investment focus is no longer limited to traditional industrial sectors, but is starting to extend into the agricultural sector through the development of standardized agricultural raw materials for global export market needs.
Wesley Chua, Honorary Treasurer and Acting Vice President of the Singapore Chamber of Commerce Vietnam (SingCham), revealed that Quang Ngai holds strong appeal thanks to its stable investment climate, land availability, and qualified logistics infrastructure. According to him, developing a closed-loop supply chain from processing to export is a key strategy for Singaporean companies to enhance the added value of local agricultural products.
As a concrete step, SingCham Vietnam is committed to conducting immediate site visits and signing a memorandum of understanding with local authorities. Currently, Quang Ngai has proven itself to be a strategic destination for Singapore, with registered foreign direct investment exceeding USD 733 million, including the success of the VSIP Industrial Park, which serves as the economic backbone of the region.
The Quang Ngai Provincial Government enthusiastically welcomes this interest. Deputy Director of the Investment Promotion Center, Le Van Tai, explained that his region boasts geographical advantages such as a deep-water port with a capacity of 200,000 DWT and impressive GDP growth projections. Priority sectors offered include high-tech agriculture in the western region, medicinal plant processing, as well as logistics and tourism development.
To reinforce this strategic partnership, the province has invited a Singaporean delegation to attend the Investment and Tourism Promotion Conference scheduled for August 2026. This meeting is expected to be a golden opportunity for both parties to integrate Quang Ngai's natural resource potential with the technological expertise and market access possessed by Singaporean businesspeople.
