Persija Jakarta has officially confirmed its participation in the prestigious pre-season tournament, the 2026 Elite President's Cup, which will take place from July 25 to August 6. This event is viewed as a strategic stepping stone for the Macan Kemayoran squad to fine-tune their performance before navigating the tight competition of the 2026/2027 official season.
Based on the draw results held on Sunday (July 6, 2026), Persija is placed in a challenging Group B. They will face tough opponents, including classic rivals Persebaya Surabaya, PSMS Medan, and Thai club Port FC. The entire series of group matches will be centered in Surabaya, while Group A is scheduled to play in Bandung.
Persija Manager Ardhi Tjahjoko expressed his appreciation to PSSI and the organizing committee for this opportunity. For him, the tournament serves as an ideal platform to monitor squad depth progress. He emphasized that the team's priority is to build a solid foundation by integrating senior players and new recruits to build solid chemistry on the pitch.
