PT PLN Nusantara Power (PLN NP) reported solid operational performance throughout 2025, with total electrical energy production reaching 66,919 Gigawatt hours (GWh). This achievement reflects not only a massive production volume but also the company's success in reducing the Basic Cost of Production (BPP) by 11.4 percent, thanks to the optimization of the energy mix.
President Director of PLN Nusantara Power, Ruly Firmansyah, explained that this efficiency is a tangible result of a more optimal transformation of generation management. The company's operational reliability was also monitored as very good, with the Equivalent Forced Outage Rate (EFOR) indicator for coal-fired power plant (PLTU) units surpassing previously set targets.
In addition to focusing on efficiency, the company also demonstrated a high commitment to environmental aspects. PLN NP successfully reduced carbon emissions by 1.46 percent, a figure that exceeds 110 percent of the company's sustainability target for 2025. This step is integrated with the implementation of strict Good Corporate Governance (GCG), which even positioned PLN NP as the entity with the highest GCG score within the PLN Group.
Not only relying on its core business of electricity provision, the company also successfully recorded non-electricity sector revenue, or Beyond kWh, worth IDR 1.1 trillion. This figure exceeded the initial target of IDR 688 billion, supported by the successful execution of various strategic projects in international markets, such as Malaysia, Bangladesh, and East Timor.
Looking to the future, PLN Nusantara Power continues to expand the capacity of the national electricity system. Currently, the company is developing several new generating units with a total capacity of 696.9 Megawatts (MW) to anticipate the surge in energy demand, which is predicted to continue rising in various regions of Indonesia.
