Police officers from the Karangpawitan Police Station, Garut Resort Police, took enforcement action against three youths on Saturday night (4/7/2026). This firm step was taken after officers received reports from residents regarding the activities of a group of people suspected of consuming alcoholic beverages in the middle of a dangdut music event at Lapang Nagrog, Sindanggalih Village, Garut Regency.

Chief of Karangpawitan Police, Gopar Suryadi Mulya, directly led the duty personnel to the location to follow up on the public concern. Upon arrival at the scene, officers found three youths with the initials M.F. (19), J. (16), and R.H. (20) who were under the influence of alcohol. The three residents of Karangpawitan District were immediately secured by officers for further questioning.

As a persuasive and educational measure, the police decided not to pursue criminal legal action. The youths were given intensive guidance and were required to sign a written statement in the presence of officers. The statement serves as their commitment to no longer consume alcoholic beverages in the future.

Responding to this incident, the police appealed to all levels of society, especially parents, to tighten supervision over the social interactions of the younger generation. The use of alcoholic beverages not only endangers personal health, but is also considered a major trigger for security disruptions and potential criminal acts that could disturb public order in the Karangpawitan area.
