Officers from the XIII Koto Kampar Sector Police (Polsek) have successfully apprehended a man identified by the initials MA (46), who is strongly suspected of being a crystal methamphetamine dealer. The arrest, which took place at the perpetrator's residence in Dusun II, Gunung Bungsu Village, XIII Koto Kampar District, Kampar Regency, was carried out in the early hours of Monday (3/8/2026) at around 00:25 WIB.
During the arrest operation, officers confiscated evidence in the form of six ready-to-sell packages of methamphetamine with a gross weight of 3.72 grams. For his actions, the suspect is now charged under Article 114 paragraph (1) of Republic of Indonesia Law No. 35 of 2009 on Narcotics, as well as relevant articles adjusting criminal offenses under the latest Criminal Code (KUHP).
The Chief of XIII Koto Kampar Sector Police, Inspector Rekmusnita, representing the Chief of Kampar District Police, AKBP Boby Putra Ramadhan S, explained that the raid originated from the concerns of local residents. Public reports indicated the rampant distribution of the illicit substance in Gunung Bungsu Village, which had also led to an increase in theft cases in their residential area.
Following up on the complaints, the Criminal Investigation Unit of the XIII Koto Kampar Sector Police conducted an intensive investigation until they eventually detected the suspect's whereabouts. The search at the suspect's house was witnessed directly by local village officials. From the preliminary interrogation, MA admitted to receiving the supply of methamphetamine from an inmate identified as HA, who is currently serving time in the Sialang Bungkuk Detention Center (Rutan) in Pekanbaru.
Currently, the suspect and the evidence have been secured at the XIII Koto Kampar Sector Police Headquarters for further legal proceedings. Inspector Rekmusnita also expressed deep appreciation to the residents who bravely cooperated with the police in eradicating drug trafficking networks in their neighborhood.
