President Prabowo Subianto has reaffirmed the government's commitment to accelerating digital transformation in the public service sector to create a leaner, more transparent, and cost-free bureaucracy for the public. The Head of State delivered this strategic directive while presiding over a Plenary Cabinet Meeting at the State Palace, Jakarta, on Monday (20/7/2026).

In his directive, the President highlighted the importance of unifying various government applications that have so far operated independently without clear integration. Prabowo wants a single unified data system so that citizens no longer need to repeatedly enter the same information just to access basic services or prove eligibility for social assistance.

As concrete evidence, the digitalization of social assistance schemes supported by the National Economic Council (DEN) has now reached one million families in 43 regencies/cities across 26 provinces. This initial step is claimed to have successfully slashed administrative costs, which previously ranged around Rp150,000, making it entirely free, with a final expansion target of 12.5 million beneficiaries.

Comprehensive database integration covers the population, health, education, labor, and housing sectors. According to the President, accurate data updates are crucial so that the distribution of social assistance is well-targeted and to prevent disparities where wealthy citizens receive aid while poor citizens are overlooked due to bureaucratic hurdles.

In addition to digital acceleration, the government is also expanding the reach of physical services through Public Service Malls (MPP), which now operate in 313 regencies/cities to provide hundreds of one-stop services. President Prabowo hopes this comprehensive transformation will establish a world-class digital-based governance that is responsive and directly present in the community.
