Search efforts for two teenagers from Krinjing Village, Watumalang District, Wonosobo Regency, who were reported missing in the Mount Bismo area, are still ongoing. To date, the joint team is still focusing their search on the slopes of the 2,365-meter-high mountain above sea level.
The Head of Krinjing Village, Mulno, emphasized that his area is not an official hiking trail. Although there is access to the forest area, the village does not provide basecamp facilities for hiking. Local residents usually enter the forest only for agricultural activities, such as managing coffee and avocado plantations.
Mulno explained that access to the forest area is actually relatively easy to reach up to a certain point, and can even be traversed using two-wheeled vehicles. However, the real challenge arises when the search team moves to higher ground toward the summit.
The condition of the terrain, which has not been touched by formal hiking trails, has caused the vegetation to grow very densely. At several points, tall wild grass blocks the access road, forcing the rescue team to manually clear a path before they can pass.
These quite extreme natural conditions have slowed down the movement of the evacuation team on the ground. The main focus currently remains on a thorough sweep of the area believed to be the last known location of the two teenagers before they were reported missing.
