Speaker of the Indonesian House of Representatives (DPR RI), Puan Maharani, responded to the recent political safari activities carried out by the 7th President of Indonesia, Joko Widodo. Although she affirmed that making political visits is the constitutional right of every citizen, Puan highlighted the urgency of maintaining stability amid national dynamics.
In her statement at the Parliamentary Complex, Senayan, Jakarta, on Tuesday (30/6/2026), Puan reminded all elements of the nation to prioritize calm. According to her, the global situation, which is facing various international challenges, demands a shared commitment not to create unnecessary political noise.
This statement comes amidst widespread public speculation regarding regional visits conducted by Joko Widodo with the Indonesian Solidarity Party (PSI). Puan hopes that any ongoing political agenda remains within a soothing corridor, allowing the government to maintain its focus on resolving economic issues and other global challenges.
The PDI Perjuangan politician stressed that maintaining a conducive political climate is a shared responsibility. She urged political actors to be more sensitive to the nation's condition so that existing dynamics do not prove counterproductive to the focus on development and public welfare.
