A joint team consisting of the Padang City Civil Service Police Unit (Satpol PP), the Indonesian National Armed Forces Military Police (PM TNI), and the National Narcotics Agency (BNN) conducted a large-scale raid on several nightlife venues early Sunday (26/7/2026). This law enforcement operation targeted population administration compliance and monitored business operators' adherence to local regulations.
During the operation, officers swept various entertainment venues to check the identities of visitors. As a result, nine people, consisting of five women and four men, had to be detained because they could not present their Identity Cards (KTP) or other official identification during the inspection.
The Head of the Operations and Control Section of Padang's Satpol PP, Harvi Dasnoer, who directly led the raid, emphasized that this action was based on Padang City Regional Regulation (Perda) Number 1 of 2025 concerning Public Order and Peace. Although the checks were conducted strictly, officers maintained a humane and persuasive approach.
The nine visitors caught in the raid were then taken to the Padang City Satpol PP Command Headquarters. They were handed over to Civil Servant Investigators (PPNS) for data recording and further examination in accordance with applicable legal provisions.
Head of the Padang City Satpol PP, Chandra Eka Putra, stated that this monitoring operation would be held periodically to ensure a conducive city environment. He also urged all members of society, including tourists visiting Padang, to always carry their identity cards for mutual convenience.
