In a strategic seminar attended by high-ranking state officials, Minister of Public Security, General Luong Tam Quang, emphasized that since its inception, the force has held a historical mission to protect the Party, the government, and the people from various internal and external threats.
History records a crucial success on July 12, 1946, in foiling a coup attempt against the revolutionary government, marking a milestone of the corps' bravery. This event is now commemorated as the Traditional Day of the People's Security Force, observed annually to honor their dedication as the nation's 'sharp sword' and 'steel shield'.
On that occasion, the Head of the Central Propaganda and Mass Mobilization Department, Trinh Van Quyet, outlined three strategic values that serve as the foundation of the force's strength. First, proactive early detection capabilities, where every risk is identified before developing into a threat. Second, deep synergy with government agencies in strengthening security policies. Third, a vital role in maintaining peace, which is the primary prerequisite for continuous national development.
Beyond being an armed force, the core value of this institution lies in absolute loyalty and an inseparable bond with the people. This strength is viewed as the 'red thread' keeping the institution's orientation steadfast amidst changing times and increasingly complex global challenges.
Welcoming a new era of development, the security forces are now urged to adopt approaches of 'proactive security' and 'constructive security'. This includes strengthening internal discipline, adopting cutting-edge technology, and digital transformation to ensure national stability is maintained with greater precision, in line with the strategic targets of the 14th Party Congress.
