Two young archery athletes from Gresik Regency, Mayyaza Humaira A. and Aprilia Dara Cantika, are confirmed to advance to the national level. This certainty was achieved after both successfully won medals at the East Java Provincial Championship (Kejurprov), earning them the right to represent the region at the Junior Archery National Championship.

Mayyaza Humaira A., a student at SMP Muhammadiyah 12 GKB, secured a silver medal, while Aprilia Dara Cantika, a student at SMP Negeri 1 Gresik, successfully brought home a bronze medal. Thanks to these prestigious achievements, they are scheduled to compete at the Supersoccer Arena in Kudus, Central Java, from July 21 to 29, 2026.

The Chairman of Perpani Gresik, Ari Primantara, revealed that this success is the fruit of consistent training conducted over the last two years. According to him, participating in this national championship is a strategic way for the athletes to gain experience while serving as a benchmark for their readiness ahead of the X East Java Provincial Sports Week (Porprov) in Surabaya.

Before departing for Kudus, the two athletes, along with the management of Perpani and KONI Gresik, had the opportunity to meet the Vice Regent of Gresik, Asluchul Alif. During the meeting, Asluchul Alif expressed his full support and conveyed a message that sports development should serve as a positive instrument in shaping the character of the younger generation.

Furthermore, Asluchul Alif encouraged Perpani Gresik to continue organizing competitions at the local level. This step is considered crucial for scouting new athletic talent while popularizing archery as a constructive activity for teenagers in Gresik.
