In order to welcome the 4th Anniversary of Central Papua Province, the local Health Office is organizing a free health check-up program for the general public. The four-day event is centered in the former Douw Aturure Airport area, Nabire Regency, starting Tuesday (21/8/2026).
The Secretary of the Central Papua Health Office, Obet Tekege, explained that this program aims to detect residents' health problems early. This preventive effort is expected to make it easier for the public to obtain prompt and appropriate medical treatment before their illness worsens.
According to Obet, this social action is a concrete manifestation of the province's health vision, namely "Ko Harus Sehat" (You Must Be Healthy). The program focuses not only on promotive and preventive health approaches but also on strengthening the referral system for patients who require further treatment at the hospital.
To ensure smooth service, the Health Office deployed medical personnel from four community health centers (Puskesmas) in the surrounding area, including Kalibobo, Karang Tumaritis, Karang Mulia, and Kota Lama Puskesmas. A total of five trained health personnel along with one ambulance unit were also stationed at the location to handle any emergency situations that might occur.
