A sudden inspection (sidak) conducted by the Jember Regency Infrastructure and Spatial Planning Task Force (Satgas ITR) in the Mount Sadeng limestone mining area, Puger, has revealed various serious violations. The joint team, consisting of the Regional Revenue Agency (Bapenda) and the Public Order Agency (Satpol PP), found administrative non-compliance and outstanding fiscal obligations among mining operators in the region.
Head of the Verification and Regional Revenue Control Division of Jember Bapenda, Arief Yudho Prasetyo, explained that the sudden inspection aimed to synchronize field data with local government records. The verification results showed that of the 21 companies operating, only seven hold active exploration permits. Meanwhile, 10 other companies were found to have tax arrears for non-metallic minerals and rocks (MBLB).
Bapenda recorded that the accumulated tax arrears of these companies reached IDR 1.6 billion for the period of January to June 2026. The largest arrears were found at PT Pertama Mina Sutra Perkasa, totaling IDR 495 million, and there was another company with arrears approaching IDR 900 million. PT Pertama Mina Sutra Perkasa acknowledged that their mining business license expired in June 2025 and is currently in the process of renewal.
Responding to these findings, the ITR Task Force emphasized that, according to regulations, companies are strictly prohibited from continuing exploration activities if their licenses have expired and have not been renewed. All administrative violation data will be submitted to the competent authorities for further evaluation. This firm step was taken by the Jember Regency Government to ensure orderly mining governance while optimizing Local Original Revenue (PAD).
