Member of the Jember Regency Regional House of Representatives (DPRD), Suharto, S.Sos., utilized the Recess of the Second Sitting Period of 2026 to promote the Universal Health Coverage (UHC) program at the Tisnogambar Village Hall, Bangsalsari District. This health insurance policy, initiated by the Jember Regency Government, is deemed successful in facilitating residents' access to medical treatment without cost barriers.
The legislator from the PDI Perjuangan Faction emphasized that UHC has a significant impact on improving public health standards. With this convenience, residents holding a Jember ID card (KTP) no longer need to hesitate to seek treatment at healthcare facilities, as all costs are covered by the government.
According to Suharto, increasing residents' awareness to get early health check-ups is a crucial preventive step. This is expected to detect potential diseases faster, so that the quality of life for people in the Jember region continues to improve alongside increasingly inclusive access to medical facilities.
In addition to the public health sector, this member of Commission B of the Jember DPRD also highlighted the importance of integrated handling of stunting cases, assistance for high-risk pregnant women, and the prevention of early marriage. He emphasized the need for strong synergy between village governments, health workers, and community cadres to address these social-health issues.
Suharto reaffirmed the commitment of the PDI Perjuangan Faction to safeguarding regional policies that favor the underprivileged. All complaints and proposals for physical and social development submitted by residents during the dialogue will be gathered to be fought for in legislative-level working meetings.
