Police ranks in the Bantul region are demonstrating a high commitment to supporting public health programs by being actively involved in promoting the Maternal and Child Health (KIA) Handbook. This step is taken to ensure that every family has access to the right information regarding the monitoring of maternal health during pregnancy until optimal child growth and development.
Bhabinkamtibmas (community police) officers are deployed directly to the community to educate the public on the importance of the KIA Handbook as a primary guide for early detection of health issues. Through this persuasive approach, it is hoped that parents will be more proactive in making routine visits to Posyandu (integrated health posts) and nearby health facilities.
In addition to providing medical understanding, the presence of the police in this promotional campaign also aims to strengthen emotional ties with the residents. This collaboration between the police and local health workers is considered effective in increasing public participation, while ensuring that government health programs can reach all levels of society, down to remote villages.
