The annual SPORTALYMPIC 2026 competition has been officially launched. The event, which serves as a platform to showcase sports and arts talents for the extended family of the Semen Padang Group, was opened directly by the President Director of PT Semen Indonesia (Persero) Tbk (SIG), Indrieffouny Indra, following the commemoration of the 68th Anniversary of the Plant Takeover from the Netherlands.
A total of six contingents consisting of a combination of departments, subsidiaries, and supporting institutions will compete for supremacy until the grand closing on August 17, 2026. Uniquely, contingent names such as Limestone, Silica, and Pozzolan are taken directly from cement-forming raw materials, reflecting the corporate identity embedded in each participant.
Finance Director of PT Semen Padang, Iskandar Z. Lubis, emphasized that the essence of holding this event is to foster a healthy lifestyle while strengthening brotherhood. The presence of retirees in an exhibition tennis match at the beginning of the event series is tangible proof that the family spirit remains alive across generations.
Echoing this sentiment, Corporate Secretary of PT Semen Padang, Win Bernadino, revealed that SPORTALYMPIC plays a strategic role in employee character development. In addition to maintaining physical and mental health, this event functions as a managerial laboratory for the committee members to hone their leadership skills and build a sense of ownership toward the company.
Not only targeting active employees, the committee also opened participation for the Semen Padang Employee Wives Communication Forum (FKIKSP) to compete in several branches. The contested disciplines include four sports—football, basketball, badminton, and table tennis—as well as two art branches, namely Musabaqah Syarhil Qur’an (MSQ) and a poetry competition.
