The presence of the Jakarta International Stadium (JIS) Station in North Jakarta has now become a new magnet for public mobility. Since its official opening, the station has recorded a positive trend with steadily increasing passenger volumes, especially during weekends.

VP Corporate Secretary of KAI Commuter, Karina Amanda, revealed that public enthusiasm was highly visible during weekend activities. There was a recorded surge in user volume of up to 300 percent compared to weekdays, as many residents utilized the station as the primary access point to the stadium area for sports and recreation.

Based on KAI Commuter data for the period of June 22 to 28, 2026, total passenger movements at JIS Station reached 4,203 people. This figure is split into 2,555 passengers departing from this station and 1,648 passengers reaching it as their final destination.

Meanwhile, weekday activity remained stable with an average of 250 users per day. The peak of station congestion occurred on Sunday (June 28, 2026), serving 1,271 passengers in a single day. The special Rp1 fare program implemented by KAI Commuter was also considered effective, with 1,232 people benefiting from the promo in its first week.

Karina added that this increase in passenger numbers proves the high public demand for integrated rail-based transit modes. The presence of this station is expected to reduce reliance on private vehicles when visiting the Jakarta International Stadium area.
